A custom arrow is more than an off-the-shelf product. At Hood Archery, every custom arrow is built individually according to customer specifications – clean, precise, and with the same high standards we apply to our own arrows.

From the first cut to the final feather, your arrow is handcrafted using high-quality components, proven materials, and genuine 3D course experience.

Ammo arrow length – what does that mean?

The "Ammo" arrow length is the length of the finished arrow from the base of the nock to the end of the shaft (excluding the point). It is intentionally different from the draw length.

This length ensures that the arrow extends safely beyond the bow window, can be tuned properly, and is constructed consistently. The Ammo arrow length you provide is the binding specification for us when building your custom arrow.

Quill protection – sensible protection on the course

Depending on the arrow type and intended use, we offer different types of quill protection. It prevents the feather quill from peeling or getting damaged, especially in the event of impacts in rough terrain.

Our quill protection is lightweight, cleanly applied, and functional. The version used depends on the fletching, arrow type, and intended purpose – always with the goal of meaningfully increasing durability and function.

Built to order – but not indiscriminately

For us, a custom arrow does not mean "anything goes," but rather everything that makes technical sense. If a combination does not fit or could cause long-term issues, we will address it openly.
